Like many of you (well, at least SOME of you), I have my fair share of quirks. And because I'm fascinated with everything money (except perhaps for earning it -- that is more of a duty than a fascination, snort), my quirks also extend to the financial realm, so I thought that over time I'd share a few.
One of my money quirks is that I like my bills crispy. As in smooth, flat, new, without any wrinkles or creases. (Yes, I have seriously considered ironing, but luckily, I don't have an iron.) Trouble is, you rarely get those deliciously pristine bills, and even when you do, it's not as if you keep them for long. And why it makes a difference to me I'm not even sure, but I'm always disappointed when crumpled, crinkly bills are handed over. Still, it's not like I can ask, "Um, can I have mine crisp please?" when dealing with a clerk. Or can I? ;)

My quirk is that I really, really hate to touch bills and coins. It's a well-known fact that they are one of the dirtiest most bacteria-ridden things out there. YUCK! ... I don't have an iron either. :)

You're right about that. And in that sense it's probably more of a health precaution than a quirk! It's even worse when the clerk handing you money is also handling food (without wearing gloves) and/or clearly has a cold. Almost makes you want to wear those plastic gloves yourself!

Ha ha ha... Nick and I rarely eat out, fast food or restaurants. One of the main reasons, besides our diet, that we don't is exactly because of that "food touching" business. Can you imagine how disgusting it is to eat something that a cashier has touched with their "money hands". Not to mention that they have to touch all kinds of other stuff that hundreds of customers touch. It really is gross. Might as well lick the ground or something. Yuck!

Lick the ground? Snort. Better not watch any of those "disgruntled fast-food employee" videos! ;)
