Ha ha. Actually, I really AM in the dark most of the time. I abhor artificial light during the day, and even though I'll have a lamp on in the evening for certain tasks (like reading), I find that the cozy glow of the screen is all I need when I'm on the computer. Strange as I crave natural light most of the time (one can never have enough windows!) and get cranky without it, but seem to have little need to illuminate my place once the sun sets.

We don't use lights much either. For Nick, it's more about saving money, but I hate to use lights because they put out so much heat. There are quite a few offices that I see in Berlin that don't turn on very many lights in the summer so I'm sure that is also because of the heat (most places aren't air conditioned either). Oh, and yay for Maxine! :)

That's absolutely true about the heat, especially with incandescent bulbs. But I still find that the energy-efficient ones don't give off a light that I particularly like, so I compromise with old bulbs in certain lamps but not using them too much. Okay, that really doesn't sound like a good system, does it? Snort.
